There are some who want to take travel and turn it into a high art. Seeing the world is part of a long tradition, speaking to intercultural exchanges that have been part of civilization’s evolution for as long as there have been boats. Some places have a longer history than others, and it’s really no surprise to find that the port towns are the ones with the most complicated and interesting histories, and exposure to other civilizations. Jakarta, once known as Tarumanagara, was the main trading port for the kingdom of Sunda in the 16th century, and has a long history of exchange in the grand scheme of things. This is why today, in Jakarta, Indonesia, hotel accommodations are so lovely, having been constructed in the spirit of hospitality that goes back for centuries.

Our hotels are selected on the basis of their consistency in offering excellent service, wiht a splendid sense of design. You will never overlook the feeling that you are replenishing your spirit and body in high style, relaxing in one of the most exciting cities on earth. Jakarta is enormous, with a sizzling energy that is constantly shifting planes. The many layers of culture here reflect the people, and it’s very likely that every traveler will find something pleasing here, with attractions that appeal to all ages. For the nightlife, it’s exquisitely good, and the clubs play music from all over the world, and from many decades. If you’re looking for something that comes from the future, look for E-Bump.

Also known as Ibrahami Adams, E-Bump is also his own producer, and this young dj has talent and drive. His music is a tribal trance form of electronic sounds, putting him on the cutting edge of dance music today. There is no question that his sense for rhythms is uncanny, playing the right beat at just the right time. He can get crowds moving in multiple directions at once, simultaneously exciting and soothing, and might be the exact cure for whatever ails you. And just might cure the fever you didn’t know you had.

When looking for a perfect New York hotel, Central Park probably comes to mind as one of the idea locations. It truly is spectacular here, and our hotels are incredibly sumptuous accommodations, selected for their excellence in service and design. They are also terribly unique, varying in architecture and decor, but all of a uniformly high standard. Individuality and comfort are some of our biggest offerings here, and we aim to help rejuvenate you so that you can enjoy your time in the city. A fantastic night’s sleep and a perfect meal, and you’re ready to begin your New York adventure. The city is all that it’s cracked up to be, and the allure which brought artists and writers here during the last century is still here. Every day there are more people arriving to test their luck here, and make their contributions to world culture. To the benefit of locals, there is always something exciting happening, day or night, and something to please every age and every taste. Culturally it is still on the edges, drawing great minds who dare to peer into the future and create new works of art based on their vision. There have been peak times in New York’s history when masses of artists were producing work that made the world stand up and take notice, and we might be entering into another one of those great moments. For a peek into the future of art, check out some of the work of Drew Waters. The Melbourne-born artist now lives in Brooklyn, and his medium is digital media. The work is usually installation-based, so that viewers enter into the gallery area and are immersed in his video creations. He was educated in Melbourne and New York, and is making interesting new work that is immersive and challenging. Drew Waters works with contemporary culture, offering critique and commentary on the state of unequal power relations, and using media to uncover some of the mechanisms of the icons and images of power.

Lee Hsien Loong is becoming to modern Malaysian society, much in the way that Plato became to ancient thinkers of Rome and modern thinkers today, a prince, a philosophical prince. His intelligence has never been questioned. His father was the previous Singapore Prime Minister, so from an early age he was groomed to take over that position. And one anonymous Singaporean shopkeeper stated that what was once the father’s ambition, the son has now achieved. The story reads as a Shakespearean play. Educated at Harvard and Cambridge, he follows much of the Confucian philosophies that so guided his father during his term as prime minister. What the country is expecting is a radical shift in governmental leadership, born out of a system of traditional beliefs.

The director of Asia Economic Forecasting, David Cohen, remarked that while many find the succession a bit…questionable…no one would ever doubt his competency to lead this country. Citizens of Singapore are well aware of the cultural restrictions they live within, and are also aware that while Lee is modern and forward thinking, his is still a man that has been involved for years, in the oppressive governmental control, as first a cabinet minister and then the Deputy Prime Minister. Singapore has had the reputation in many foreign countries over the years as, quite frankly, a somewhat intense place to visit. Gum chewing was outlawed until very recently. A more congenial and welcoming manner would benefit all aspects of business for this country, from the corner Singapore boutique hotel, to the petrol stations to the opera.

Many aspects of Singapore are censored. In the past, the media kept hidden certain circumstances while exposing those issues that were permitted in being exposed. One such set of stories showed the softer side of Lee. One that his advisers have insisted upon, not just for the cameras, but in reality. Lee insists on taken the changes slowly. He is meanwhile supporting moves forward in technology, logistics and matters of social change.

The sixth annual Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference (DIHAD) is scheduled for April 7 – 9, 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. DIHAD 2009 will focus on “Empowering Communities: From Disaster to Development.”

DIHAD focuses on both humanitarian aid and encouraging development. It also addresses community emergency preparedness across the globe. Since many developing countries lack basic communication and technology infrastructure, the conference tends to zero in on those issues as well. The conference receives the full support of both the UAE Red Crescent Society and the United Nations.

Over 300 companies from around the world are expected to participate in the conference, which is the largest humanitarian event in the Middle East. Companies will represent a wide range of sectors and industries, from government and charitable organizations to healthcare providers, medical equipment suppliers, engineering and environmental solutions, adn emergency services as well as manufacturers, distributors, and technology providers. Nearly twenty countries will be involved in the conference.

Dubai‘s rapid development into a major tourist, sports, and event destination has positioned it as the jewel of the Middle East. In addition to state-of-the art conference facilities, the city has improved its infrastructure and transportation and is home to a wide-range of modern accommdations (it’s very easy to find a modern Dubai UAE hotel), restaurants, and other businesses needed to support events of this scope.

Pale Male, a red hawk was first noted in Central Park in 1991. Since then he has become a beloved part of New York City and has become an integral part of bird lovers’ springtime activities sitting in wait of the hatching eggs of Pale Male’s offspring. The nests watched very intently via binoculars, are on top of an upscale fifth avenue apartment complex. The hawk was driven from the Central Park trees almost 20 years ago by crows, however, his nesting spot is now protected by the housing cooperative. Pale Male met a companion one year after settling into the city, and in 1992 the pair became the chatter of bird watchers all over the world. Three of their offspring hatched that year with two of the birds of prey still calling Central Park their home to this day.

A few years later, his mate died, and Pale Male settled in with a new mate named Blue.

It is believed that Blue lived for about 8 years, and it is assumed she died after her disappearance in 2001. From the windows of the magnificent city of New York, many people were in attendance as eleven new chicks were hatched and grew to adulthood in the park. In 2004, the spikes meant to deter pigeons from nesting were removed from the buildings ledges. This caused quite a stir among bird lovers everywhere as these spikes securely supported the hawk’s nest. The National Audubon Society recommended an initiative to re-install the supports providing the structure necessary to hold the nests securely to the side of the high rise. And while the hawks continue to nest in their re-secured nest, no new eggs have hatched since the original nest supports were removed. The pair of hawks still maintain a strong audience however, waiting hopefully in Central Park and in the New York Airport hotel of New York City to catch a glimpse of hopefully perhaps some new offspring.
