A Sheik in Dubai

5:47 pm Travel

I came to Dubai in hopes of meeting the man of my dreams, a Sheik and he’d instantly fall in love with me. Just Kidding! But, today is a special day, well actually, tomorrow morning at 2am, which means I’m going to have a very long day today. I went down to the restaurant of the 5 star hotel in Dubai where I’m staying to have breakfast. I really needed to order room service, because there were a few movies I wanted to watch, but how could I meet my Sheikh if I was in my hotel room all day?

It’s a Holy day today and almost everything is closed until 5pm. So, keeping that in mind, I decided the best way to spend the day was to chill and watch movies before headed out to Abu Dhabi. It was around 2pm when I checked out and loaded up my car hire. I had to try for better pictures of the skyline before I left Dubai. The sky was clear today, so it my pictures turned out much better than my earlier shots, well at least the clarity was better. I traveled most of the afternoon to get to Abu Dhabi. Right away I took photos and went by the Palace and Heritage Village.

I was finished with Abu Dhabi around 5pm and headed back to Dubai, but my flight wasn’t for another 4 hours, so I headed straight for the Mall to shop, Wafi Mall, which was very beautiful. It’s built like a pyramid and the ceilings were all done in stain-glass. Really stunning. I found this great little eatery in the middle of the mall, it had the best chicken tekke with makini sauce. I never thought I’d find that kind of food in a mall.

There was no place to get a drink before my flight, I mean, I can’t fly without a buzz. I know I’m not the only one out there that almost panics when it comes to flying. But, there you go, no drinking at the airport.  I guess I’ll have to wait till my planes in flight to order a few, after all, going back to the States is a long, long flight. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to sit next to a young, single Sheik.
